You could say that my only wedding of 2020 did not disappoint.

In fact, you could say that it absolutely knocked me for six. I wasn’t particularly sure what to expect but whatever preconceived notion of a small wedding I had in my head was completely wrong.

Sam and Marty are only ever out for a thoroughly good time - you are inevitably going to be smiling if you find yourself spending time with these two.

Tom had other plans though which made for one of the most surreal, hilarious shoots of all time which somehow spiralled into more and more fantastic ridiculousness. Wheat sharks anyone?

Usher, an odd amount of press-ups and Eva’s mum throwing it down on the dance floor - Yesterday was a seriously big day.

The problem was - I was a fair distance away setting up flashes for the barn shot. This meant I had to narrowly beat Usain Bolts 100m record when I heard the sultry tones of Mr.C The Slide Man come over the sound system

Every part of the day was full of heart and laughter. When Kev and Danielle weren’t making me laugh, their friends and family were, it really was a crazy day in all the best ways!

These two are a one of a kind couple. Each of them are so incredibly lovely and down to earth, plus they seem to have outrageous amounts of fun in whatever they do.

It really was one of those days where I was definitely at risk of having too much fun with the couple and needed to remember to take some photographs from time to time.

Basically, I got to shoot the wedding of two of my friends who, coincidently, I met because they booked me to shoot said wedding.

Of course, it is just when you think you have seen it all at weddings that you get to shoot a squad of steam engines rolling about! It wasn’t just the engines though, this day was full of unusual and gorgeous bits and pieces that made it all the more special for this amazing couple.

The day was non stop laughs and the couple went above and beyond for couple shots. They even pioneered the fabled ‘lasso pose’ (see below). Maybe the funnest part of the day for me was seeing Jess cry with joy. Why was this so funny though?

It’s rare that I get to finesse my limbo skills at a wedding but it is even rarer that you find a couple like Matt & Caroline. In addition to being absolutely lovely, genuine people that were super fun to shoot, these two went out of their way all day to try and make sure I was having a good time. However they need not have as I loved the whole thing!

It was almost dangerous getting me and this couple together for portraits! One minute we were sprinting up hills, the next minute we were doing cartwheels. Believe it or not, the couple even mastered the art of flight at one point! You will see what I mean…

Now, I have seen some extraordinary sunsets in my four years shooting weddings, but this one was truly unreal. We sure did have to wait for it, but wow did it deliver.

From the second I met them, Sean and Jean made me feel like one of the family. They are such a kind and considerate couple, always checking I was having a good time which they truly needn’t have! The same goes for all of the friends and family, I was genuinely taken back by the many kind things people said to me during the day.
